high idle 7000

ok i just got this car 88 gt 2.8 it had a bad battey in it so i changed it now vthe idle is at 7000-6000 rpm will idle re-learn fix this any help plz
600-700 ? Yes it will.
6000-7000 Pretty soon there won't be an engine to idle....
